*Myrtle is an evergreen shrub with glossy leaves. Myrtle is in the same family as Clove and Allspice. It is amous for being used to make wreaths for Olympic champions in ancient times. Myrtle is found in many legends and myths in ancient Greece. It was considered sacred to Aphrodite and Demeter, and was a symbol a love and immortality. Myrtle was used in Queen Victoria’s wedding bouquet and from that time, the sprigs have been collected from the same plant used in subsequent royal weddings even down to today.
